Farmer’s Death at Delhi Rally Permanent Blot on Kejriwal
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s BJP and Delhi Chief Minister’s AAP behave alike when it comes to encouraging sycophancy and being in campaign mode even after coming to power. We can add the Congress also to the duo. They are all birds of the same feather NOT flocking together.

Little Governance, More Rallies: Both Mr Modi and Mr Kejriwal have been elected with a thumping majority so they can focus on governing the country and Delhi respectively. Instead, what we have been seeing is both singing their own glory day in and day out.
Thanks to the vicious political agenda of both the BJP and the Congress, now we know that the farmer who killed himself yesterday at the AAP’s rally in Delhi:
- was an AAP member
- had contested and lost elections twice earlier on a Samajwadi Party ticket, and
- that he was not a farmer in distress but someone who owned 10 acres of land
So why did he kill himself then? The parties are not interested in finding genuine answers to that question. All they want is political mileage from the tragedy!
Gajendra Singh, the unfortunate victim, perhaps did not want to die. He may have only been interested in dramatising the plight of farmers at the hands of the BJP and drawing the attention of the nation to it. He is from Rajasthan, a State ruled by the BJP with Mrs Vasundhara Raje Scindia as Chief Minister. She has royal lineage as her father was the Maharaja of Gwalior.
Mrs Vasundhara Raje Scindia, daughter of a Maharaja, now BJP Chief Minister of Rajasthan!
Gajendra Singh may even have thought that as he was attempting suicide at a place where thousands of AAP sympathisers had gathered to cheer Mr Kejriwal, with the Delhi Police in full force, he would end up being rescued even as his mission is accomplished.
Why Were Police There?: Alas, that was not to be as the AAP and the police did not want to be distracted by the suicide. The AAP supporters were there to glorify Mr Kejriwal. It is unclear why the police were there. To watch events unfold, and not to prevent untoward incidents?
His suicide will remain a blot on the AAP and Mr Kejriwal forever as it happened in full view of the leader and his followers.
No matter what the AAP may say in mitigation the party cannot escape blame for the tragedy.
In his death, Gajendra Singh has become a rallying point for both the BJP and the Congress to blast Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in a shameless attempt to seek political gains from a tragedy.
But his suicide may go in vain as the BJP appears intent on pushing ahead with its Land Acquisition Bill to boost development at the expense of farmers.
Earlier Post on the Issue – Indians typically have a penchant for drama, and they are not good at that too! https://joslinv.wordpress.com/2015/04/22/indians-will-politicise-even-tragedies-for-their-own-ends/
