This week has been an interesting, fun-filled one for us. We had a simple celebration of the birthday of my second daughter on January 26, India’s Republic Day.
We stopped celebrating birthdays at home years ago largely because we are not into socialising. But this January 26 was special as a very close friend and family from India were with us on a short visit.
We bought a Black Forest ice-cream cake from Swensens that we cut only at night as she had classes during the day.
Yesterday we visited Gardens by the Bay, the Jurong Bird Park and the Night Safari with them. Today we have planned a River Safari adventure.
I took four days leave to spend time with them. The last time they were here was in 2004 after which they relocated first to London and then to Germany before returning to India.
It has been fun and when it is time for goodbye tomorrow we will have some fond memories to cherish.
