Australian land deal hits Roadblock but Chinese Buyer Not Giving up

A few weeks ago I had blogged about how a Chinese-led consortium was close to buying 1% of Australian land at a bargain-basement price.

It ran into political trouble, rightly so, and failed to take off given that the authorities thought Australia’s national interests were at stake.

But the prospective buyers are still not giving up.

They appear keen on submitting a revised bid over the next few months even while taking potshots at Australian politics – likening it to Netflix series House of Cards.
