It’s the run-up to Christmas that is typically more fun than the Day Christians long for throughout the year. The mood just gets kicked into full gear during the 12 days to Christmas.
It’s a season for giving, of listening to great carols, with Jim Reeves’ numbers being my personal favourite, savouring rich plum cakes and reminiscing with gratitude about actions and people who have brought cheer to our lives.
My first daughter has not seen what she enjoys the most (painting and spending time with the family) wane.
My second daughter steps into her eighth and final semester at the NUS while not forsaking her extra-curricular interests (a cappella singing, church activities).
The great cook that she is, my wife has been honing her skills and keeping us happy and latching on to her iPad (for her listening joy and for tracking breaking stories) whenever she is able to. She is more news-aware than the rest of us.
As for me, I have been relishing the Genesys way of life, where I have been able to re-experience the Cisco charm minus its negativity.
What continues to unite us as a family is living a life of simplicity and contentment – together private without social madness!
Have a joyous Christmas and may your dreams come true in 2017!
