Protests over Jallikattu in Some Locations Being Investigated
If some media reports are to be believed, Tamilians in Singapore had staged illegal demonstrations in the country a few days ago at a few locations, including one in Sembawang and another at the Hong Lim Park.
That was believed to be in support of those fighting over Jallikattu, an Indian version of the bullfight, in the name of tradition and culture.
TV channels in India have been reporting of protests in Singapore and Malaysia over Jallikattu.
Hope Singapore has not forgotten the Little India riots a few years ago.
Indians in Singapore, including citizens, closely follow politics in their country of origin. That is their prerogative. I do that too. But they cannot be allowed to meddle with peace in Singapore.
