If China is notorious for patent thefts, it appears India is no saint either.
Going by this Scroll report, film-makers in India have been stealing content from everywhere, with Korean cinema being among the recent victims.
In the past, Hindi cinema was said to be lifting clips from Hollywood. In turn, Indian regional films were gleefully copying from Hindi.
The exceptions were creations not aimed at the box office, otherwise known as art cinema mostly produced in Kerala and West Bengal.
I have found even comedy scenes based on what I had read in joke books.
What a shame originality is anathema to the two Asian powerhouses one way or the other!
