Inclusive Meritocracy, the Way to Go!

Inclusive meritocracy amid a level-playing field that does not dilute the pursuit of excellence is the thrust of this editorial in The Straits Times published yesterday.

In a broader context, that is the way to go in business as well without letting mediocrity seep in. One reason I like AI is because it can help us deal with human complacency and mediocrity at work along with speed of execution.

A DEI embrace is the right thing to do, too, provided that is not allowed to degenerate into quota-centric populism.

If genuine talent is allowed to become a disadvantage, even a liability, for whatever reason, it is the business that will suffer and nation-building will falter.

An inclusive corporate culture ought to only mean that meritocracy alone will matter, ensuring that no prejudices of any form come in the way!

Otherwise, the result will be the conquest by AI of not just mediocrity but of inclusivity!
